In a tragic incident, former Station House Officer (SHO) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abid Wazir, was brutally killed by militants, according to sources.
According to police reports, the body of a police officer, Abid Wazir, was found in a nearby nullah in Bannu. Earlier, some news outlets had reported that the officer had been safely rescued and had reached home. However, the latest updates confirm that the kidnappers martyred him before he could return.
As per details, Abid Wazir, the former Station House Officer (SHO) of Wazir Police Station, was kidnapped two days ago from the Mamand Khel area of Bannu. He was abducted along with his official vehicle from the People Daud Shah area. Moreover, security sources revealed that militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were behind the kidnapping. Following the abduction, police and security agencies launched a search operation in the surrounding areas to locate the missing officer.
However, despite extensive efforts, his body was discovered later in a nullah, indicating that he had been killed by his captors. The tragic news shocked fellow officers and the local community, who had been hoping for his safe return. After the recovery, the body was shifted to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and official procedures. Meanwhile, heavy contingents of police have been deployed in the area, and a search operation is underway to trace the culprits.
Furthermore, senior police officials have strongly condemned the incident, calling it an attack on law enforcement and the state. They vowed to bring those responsible to justice. The martyrdom of the officer has once again raised concerns over the growing militant activities in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the security challenges faced by police personnel in the region.
