Pakistan cripples major chunk of India’s power grid

According to security sources, Pakistan has rendered 70% of India’s power grid dysfunctional through a cyberattack in the early hours of Saturday.

Pakistan Armed Forces have launched a major military campaign named Operation Bunyan Marsoos in response to continuous provocations by India. The operation began early Saturday and includes strategic strikes and cyber operations targeting key Indian assets.

Security sources revealed that Pakistan successfully destroyed the BrahMos missile storage facility in Beas, which was used to launch attacks on Pakistani territory. In addition, major Indian air bases such as Udhampur and Pathankot have been heavily targeted during the operation.

As part of the broader offensive, Pakistan also launched a coordinated cyberattack on high-profile Indian targets. According to sources, multiple government and political websites, including the official site of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), were taken offline.

Critical data from the BJP Madhya Pradesh unit was leaked and the site defaced. In total, 13 Indian government portals were taken down, 15 email servers were hacked, and 150 databases were compromised. Institutions affected include the Crime Research Investigation Agency, Mahanagar Telecommunication Corporation Limited (MTCL), and Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), which supplies equipment to the Indian military.

The cyberattack also impacted India’s digital infrastructure, including the complete ICT systems of Indian Railways, Delhi Gas Discom, and Kashmir Electric Discom. Consumer electricity portals and wind mill networks were shut down, while 1744 web servers were reportedly destroyed and their data wiped.

Security analysts say this large-scale operation reflects Pakistan’s resolve to respond to aggression with full force on both military and digital fronts. The situation remains tense as both countries exchange heavy responses across multiple domains.
