Electricity supply to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has been cut off due to its failure to pay a Rs6.9 million bill.
According to reports, PHF was given several warnings to settle the overdue balance but refused, so the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) began legal action.
In addition, the Punjab Hockey Association’s office has an unpaid electricity bill of Rs500,000, and Lesco is probably going to turn off the power.
The power outage has also been reported to PHF officials by office staff.
PHF has been struggling financially for a long time since, despite being the national game of the South Asian nation, the game does not receive the proper attention from the government.
Officials from PHC stated that attempts are being made to arrange the money so that the power supply may be fixed.
Pakistan triumphed against South Korea to win the bronze medal and claim third place in the recently concluded Asian Hockey Champions Trophy.
Amidst persistent financial difficulties, the Pakistan Hockey Federation is facing pressure to pay its debts.
Despite these difficulties, the squad recently demonstrated their skill by winning the bronze medal at the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy.
