Veteran actor Asim Bukhari passed away in Lahore on Thursday after his health deteriorated sharply, his son Ajlal Bukhari announced on Instagram.
The death of famous Pakistani actor Asim Bukhari at the age of 76 years in Lahore. He was troubled with his heart and kidneys. By Wednesday, he fell into a coma, his son Ajlal told people earlier on Instagram, requesting them to pray for his father. Asim starred in the Urdu and Punjabi programs and films.
His last acting was in the 2024 PTV drama Tootay Pattay. His roles as supporting actors in such classics as Sona Chandi in 1982 and Andhera Ujala in 1984 were appreciated by fans. He was also featured in movies like Dubai Chalo (1979) and Badmash Gujjar (2001). He made massive contributions to the entertainment industry as his efforts to do so were rewarded with the Presidential Pride of Performance Award given by the government.
The government honored him with the Presidential Pride of Performance Award for his huge contributions to entertainment. This top prize celebrated his lifelong work in acting. Health troubles hit him hard before. In July, a heart attack filled his lungs with fluid and weakened his kidneys. Doctors rushed him to the hospital, but he fought back and fully recovered, returning home strong.
His family announced funeral prayers at Jamia Masjid Al-Rasheed in Lahore’s Bahria Orchard on March 12 after Asr prayers. Many fans and friends plan to attend to say goodbye. Asim leaves behind a legacy of memorable characters that touched hearts across Pakistan. His death marks a sad loss for the industry.
