The Meteorological Department has announced that the monsoon spell 2025 has ended in the country with no more rains in the coming days.
According to PMD, daytime temperatures will remain high in most plain areas, while nights in the upper parts of the country will stay relatively moderate. In Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby mountainous regions, partly cloudy conditions are expected during the afternoon. Coastal areas are also likely to see partly cloudy weather.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab confirmed that the monsoon season has officially ended in the province. DG Irfan Ali Kathia stated that there is no forecast of further rainfall in the coming week and water levels in flood-hit regions are gradually receding. PDMA shared that this year’s floods caused by the monsoon rains have severely impacted 4,755 villages across 28 districts of Punjab. At least 123 people lost their lives, and more than 4.5 million people were affected. Relief and rehabilitation activities are ongoing in affected districts to support families who lost homes and livelihoods.
Officials noted that timely measures prevented an even bigger disaster, but the scale of destruction remains significant. With water levels now falling, authorities are focusing on restoring infrastructure, repairing damaged houses, and providing basic facilities to affected communities.
The recent update comes as Pakistan continues to recover from one of the most challenging monsoon seasons in recent years. Meteorological experts said the coming week will largely remain hot and dry, giving flood-hit areas some relief to carry out recovery operations without the risk of new rain spells.
