A deadly traffic accident in Balochistan’s Panjgur district claimed nine lives and left one person critically injured.
Rescue teams rushed to the spot immediately after the incident and shifted the injured and the dead to the Teaching Hospital Panjgur. According to Masrur Ahmed, head of the Panjgur Medical Emergency, the victims included two people traveling in the jeep, six passengers of the bus, and one motorcyclist. Another motorcyclist was injured and is receiving urgent medical treatment. Hospital staff are working to identify the deceased and inform their families.
Police officials stated that initial investigations point to high speed as the main cause of the crash. The sudden collision led to a massive fire that engulfed both the bus and the jeep. Fire brigade staff struggled for hours before managing to put out the flames. Local rescue workers, with the help of citizens, cleared the wreckage and restored traffic flow on the road after the accident. Officials said the scale of the tragedy highlights the urgent need for strict enforcement of road safety laws and awareness campaigns to prevent reckless driving.
Road accidents remain a serious concern in Balochistan, where poor road conditions and overspeeding often cause deadly collisions. The Panjgur crash adds to the growing list of fatal incidents in the province. Authorities have urged drivers to follow speed limits and traffic rules to avoid further loss of lives.
