The Provincial Disaster Management (PDMA) of Balochistan has assigned ten areas as disaster zones because of heavy monsoon and flooding.
As per the PDMA declaration on Friday, the areas incorporate Qalat, Ziarat, Sohbatpur, Lasbela, Awaran, Kachi, Jaffarabad, Usta Muhammad, Loralai, and Chagai.
District administrations in these locations have received instructions from the PDMA to take the required actions to relieve the impacted people.
Prior to this, the PDMA had said that the extreme weather in Balochistan had resulted in at least 29 fatalities and 15 injuries.
The study by PDMA made clear that the rains, which started on July 1, had severely damaged crops and infrastructure. Thirteen,896 dwellings have been partially damaged and 858 have completely collapsed as a result of the floods.
In addition, 58,799 acres of crops and 41 km of roads were harmed by the report’s considerable agricultural losses. In addition, seven bridges have sustained damage, and the intense rains have claimed the lives of 373 animals.
An additional bout of monsoon rains is still plaguing every city in Pakistan.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned that further rain is expected in Sindh’s coastal regions over the course of the next 24 hours.
