Peshawar introduces new system to reduce license queues

A fully digitalized driving license branch has been inaugurated in Peshawar, allowing citizens to get all services without standing in long queues.

The new office was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, at the Traffic Headquarters Peshawar. The branch adheres to one window operation model, in which citizens are able to complete all the steps related to the license in one roof. Individuals will not have to go to several offices to take tests, pay fees, take photos and process documents.

New licenses, renewals, and other services will be managed by the new digital system with the help of the modern counters and online-connected processes. Upon arrival at Traffic Lines Gulbahar, the IGP received a formal salute from the City Traffic Police contingent. He made a visit to the Memorial of the Martyrs where he presented Fateha and laid a wreath in commemoration of fallen officers.

Chief Traffic Officer Zahidullah then informed the IGP about the new digital system and how the new system will cut down on paperwork, increase processing speed as well as make the process more transparent.
