The Meteorological Department expects cold and dry conditions in most areas of the country.
In Islamabad, the weather remained cold and dry throughout the day, and similar conditions were reported in Murree and Galyat. The Meteorological Department said that most districts of Punjab are also experiencing cold and dry weather. However, dense fog is likely in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura and Gujranwala, which may affect visibility during early morning and night hours.
Fog is also expected in Gujarat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu and Bahawalpur. These areas may face travel delays due to low visibility. Meanwhile, most parts of Sindh and Balochistan will remain dry and cold, with no major weather system expected in the coming hours.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, fog is likely in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera and Dera Ismail Khan. Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to see partly cloudy skies along with extremely cold temperatures, adding more difficulty for residents in high-altitude areas.
The northern regions remain firmly in the grip of severe cold. Skardu recorded the lowest temperature at minus 5 degrees Celsius, while Gilgit dropped to minus 3. Astore and Kalat touched minus 1 degree, indicating widespread freezing conditions. Dir and Chitral also recorded minus 1 degree, showing no relief from the cold spell. Quetta reported a temperature of 2 degrees, and Islamabad recorded 3 degrees Celsius early in the morning. Authorities advised citizens to take precautions during late-night and early-morning travel due to fog. They also urged people to keep warm as temperatures are expected to remain low in the coming days.
