Security forces on Saturday confirmed the death of the main suspect in Balaj Tipu murder case.
Ahsan Shah, the prime suspect in Balaj Tipu murder case, was being escorted to Shadbagh for evidence recovery when Robbers armed with guns and rocket-propelled grenades ambushed the convoy.
A police statement said the robbers attacked two police patrols killing at least 11 officers and wounding others, adding that Shah was fatally wounded in the ensuing crossfire.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries.
The border region is considered a no-go area for citizens. Police and other law enforcement agencies do not have much control of the area, which a large number of gangs use as a safe haven.
The case traces back to February 18, when Amir Balaj Tipu, the son of the notorious Tipu Truckanwala, was shot to death at a wedding ceremony for the son of former DSP Akbar Iqbal Bala near Thokar Niaz Baig.
The shooting incident claimed the lives of two individuals, including Balaj Tipu, and left three others injured.
