Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has granted in-principle approval for the province’s first “Skill City,” directing officials to submit detailed plans at the earliest.
It is a daring initiative that constructs new institutes and transforms old vocational centers into the best centers of excellence throughout Punjab. The authorities also implement practical courses since matriculation. The young learn practical skills at early ages such as graphic design, coding, media production, fashion, tourism, electrical work, plumbing, solar setups, cooking, and health care. These are what industries desire and these get the grads employment within a short time.
Sharif wants global cred too. The Technical and Vocational Education Board of Punjab is linked with those schools in the UK and Scotland in search of international standards. She instructed professional educators and industrial experts to model classes that provide champions.
She urged fast detailed plans at a meeting in Lahore on school skills. Sharif shared festive messages too. In her Eid ul Fitr note, she called for simple joys and aid to the needy real happiness spreads when all share. Programs like Maryam Ki Sunain sent Rs10000 digitally to millions of families.
On World Down Syndrome Day, she demanded better care, schooling, and inclusion for special kids. Nowruz greetings stressed unity and cultural bonds that draw people close. For International Day of Forests, she urged tree planting nature protection belongs to everyone. Government uses tech to guard woods and manage green spaces smartly.
