Punjab Boards roll out major increase in examination fees

Punjab educational boards have set tentative dates for matric result announcements and proposed a schedule for second annual exams, sources say.

Class 10 results are likely to be released on August 6, while Class 9 results could follow on September 2, pending final approval. Board officials completed consultations on the timetable and expect formal confirmation soon. Students will be able to check their results online and at their respective board offices.

Meanwhile, authorities have proposed that matric second annual examinations begin on October 6. The admission schedule for these exams will be issued shortly so students can complete registrations on time. Officials emphasized that issuing the admission timetable early will help avoid last-minute problems and ensure smooth registration.

Education experts praised the boards for moving quickly but stressed that final approval must come soon to give students and families time to plan. They noted that clear, timely schedules help students make informed choices about tutoring, exam preparation, and future study pathways. Parents and students have also urged authorities to confirm the dates promptly to end the uncertainty surrounding results and exams.

To support accessibility, boards plan to publish results on multiple online portals and maintain in-person access through board offices. This dual approach aims to assist students who face internet access issues. Officials also said they will release detailed instructions about result verification and rechecking processes once dates are confirmed.

In the coming weeks, the boards will finalize the calendar and issue official notices. Students are advised to watch board websites and official announcements for confirmed dates and registration details. Meanwhile, schools and private tutors are preparing revision plans and guidance sessions to help students perform well in the upcoming second annual examinations.
