Pakistan’s first tier-4 data centre gets Punjab CM’s approval

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz addressed the Chief Minister Livestock Card launch ceremony in Pakpattan, announcing an extensive package of reforms and initiatives aimed at uplifting farmers, improving public welfare, and advancing infrastructure development in the province.

As part of the Rs20 billion livestock card program, beneficiaries will receive Rs270000 for four months to purchase quality fodder and improve livestock health. The program is designed to increase animal weight and productivity, with plans to extend its scope next year to include an additional 90000 beneficiaries.

A Rs9 billion fund has been set aside for livestock vaccinations, and steps are being taken to increase local vaccine production. In addition, farmers will soon have access to agricultural machinery in every tehsil, which will be available for use with a return policy. Veterinary assistants have been provided with 35 motorcycles to help improve rural health services.

The CM also highlighted a Rs400 billion package aimed at supporting farmers, which includes subsidies for fertilizers and seeds to combat black market practices and ensure affordability. The ‘Apna Ghar, Apna Chhat‘ program has already received over 700000 applications, with plans to build 100000 homes this year and 500000 over the next five years.

To encourage youth entrepreneurship, Maryam Nawaz announced interest-free loans of up to Rs30 million. The government is also focused on key infrastructure projects, such as metro bus services in Faisalabad and Gujranwala, as well as the upcoming Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Hospital in Sargodha, which will provide advanced cardiac care.

Special attention is being given to empowering women, especially in South Punjab, by distributing livestock and assets to low-income women. The CM also raised concerns about the previous government’s handling of public funds, contrasting it with the ongoing development work being carried out under her leadership.
