The Punjab Government has launched an innovative e-auction system, allowing citizens to register vehicles and bid for desired number plates online through a dedicated app and web portal.
The system simplifies the bidding process for motorcycle and car number plates and allows users to view auction results through a mobile app.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasised the platform’s convenience, enabling users to register online and bid easily.
The registration remains open until December 31, 2024, giving participants ample time to secure their desired vehicle numbers.
In a related development, the Pakistan Customs has introduced a policy to curb the misuse of smuggled cars by government officials.
It cancels NOCs for impounded vehicles previously used by officers and limits the number of vehicles provincial Customs Intelligence offices can use.
For instance, Islamabad is restricted to 12 cars, while other regional offices can use up to 10.
The policy aims to enhance accountability and prevent the misuse of authority within the department.
