Punjab Teaching Interns 2025 Eligibility Criteria & Salary

Punjab schools get new attendance system for teachers

The Punjab government has unveiled an ambitious plan to hire 12,500 School Teaching Interns (STIs) for the year 2025, marking a significant boost to the province’s education sector. This initiative, announced by the Punjab School Education Department, aims to address teacher shortages and enhance the quality of education in government schools across Punjab.

Punjab Teaching Interns 2025 Eligibility Criteria and Positions Available

The STI program will recruit interns for a nine-month period each year, offering positions at primary, elementary, high, and higher secondary schools. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria, including:

  • Domicile: Punjab residents only
  • Age limit: 21-28 years
  • Qualifications: BA/BSC/MA/MSC/BS/B.Ed, with teaching experience preferred

Competitive Salary Package for Punjab Teaching Interns 2025

The salary package for STI jobs 2025 is competitive, ranging from Rs38,000 to Rs45,000 per month, based on the teaching level:

  • Primary Level: Rs38,000
  • Middle Level: Rs40,000
  • High/Higher Secondary Level: Rs45,000

Application Process for School Teaching Intern Jobs in Punjab

To ensure local representation, interns will be selected from the same village or nearby areas where the hiring school is located. The application process will be conducted online through the Government of Punjab’s official website, with the deadline expected to be in January 2025.

Additional Education Sector Initiatives in Punjab

In addition to the STI program, the Higher Education Department has completed the recruitment of 7,354 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) for a six-month period from November 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025. These positions offer a monthly stipend of Rs50,000.

Punjab Government’s Commitment to Education Improvement

The Punjab cabinet, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has approved these recruitment initiatives as part of broader efforts to improve the education system. The government is also focusing on enhancing governance, accountability, and functional autonomy within the education sector.
