Punjab to impose Toll tax on 18 roads to Generate Revenue

LAHORE – The Punjab government is all set to impose toll tax on 18 different roads for the purpose of revenue generation. The generated revenue will be used for the development and maintenance of infrastructure.

According to sources, the Punjab Government has accepted the proposal and granted approval for this new initiative and will soon be issued by the Finance and Communication and Works Department.

The new 18 roads that have been added cover a good stretch of area from Bahawalpur to Hasilpur all the way to Chistian.

Moreover, sources also suggest that the government is planning to revive all toll plazas on highways spanning from Gujranwala, Nankhana Sahib and all the way to Sheikhupura.

The government believes that revenue generation from these roads is of immense importance as the revenue will go back into this infrastructure for its maintenance.
