Rain expected in Punjab and KP as temperatures drop

The Meteorological Department forecasts rain in most parts of Pakistan today, offering welcome relief from scorching heat.

Citizens in the federal capital and beyond can expect cooler weather soon. Rain targets Islamabad, Potohar region, Murree, and Galiyat right away. In addition, northern spots like Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will see showers at various places. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, and Haripur, stay cloudy with rain likely.

Furthermore, expect rain in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Bajaur, Mohmand, Swabi, Charsadda, Kohat, Karak, Khyber, Hangu, Kurram, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan at scattered spots. Plains of Punjab face rain and clouds too, hitting Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, and Bahawalnagar.

Southern Punjab areas like Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Jhang, Layyah, and Bhakkar brace for dusty winds. Meanwhile, most of Balochistan and Sindh remain dry and hot. In a sad turn, heavy rain and strong winds toppled a house roof in Punjab’s Bahawalnagar district, Donga Bonga area. The collapse injured seven family members buried under debris. Rescue teams rushed in, pulling everyone out safely after the sudden incident during ongoing downpours.
