The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has announced that customers consuming up to 500 units of electricity will receive relief of up to Rs14 per unit, but this relief applies only to those with single-phase meters.
According to details, the relief is exclusively given to single-phase meter customers, leaving three-phase meter users unaffected.
According to Lesco sources, the energy ministry only ordered that relief be provided to single-phase meters, even though the Chief Minister’s decision to grant relief was intended to include all consumers.
Numerous individuals were left in a state of anguish after the most recent invoices for three-phase meter users were delivered without the promised alleviation of Rs14 per unit.
Every day, irate customers have been coming to Lesco offices in hopes of getting aid and clarification on the relief, but to no effect.
Frustrated that they are still not eligible for the Rs14 alleviation per unit in power rates, customers with three-phase meters have voiced their anger.
Many have voiced their perplexity and displeasure, and Lesco representatives have not provided any satisfactory explanations. Three-phase consumers still have to pay more even after assurances of help.
