LAHORE – The Punjab government has announced the closure of all public and private schools across the province due to worsening smog situation.
Punjab Education Minister Sikandar Hayat announced it, stating that the educational institutions will remain closed till November 17. He said the district authorities had made requests in this regard.
The minister said the government was forced to shut down the schools due to rising smog in the different cities.
Earlier, the educational institutions were closed in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala division in order to save students from the air pollution.
Meanwhile, the capital city of Punjab province, Lahore, again ranked the most polluted city in the world as air quality remains hazardous with AQI standing at 744 on Tuesday.
