Authorities have extended the winter holidays, and schools in Azad Kashmir will reopen on January 6.
A notification issued by the department states that schools in AJK will remain closed until Saturday, January 4, 2025. This extension applies to both government and private educational institutions.
The decision was made to ensure the safety and well-being of students during the severe weather conditions. Authorities have urged parents and students to stay informed about any further updates regarding the school schedule.
In other regions, the Sindh Education Department had earlier announced that schools would reopen on January 1, 2025, after the winter break from December 21 to December 31. In Punjab, however, winter vacations will continue until January 12, and classes are set to resume on Monday, January 13, 2025.
These decisions reflect the ongoing efforts by education departments across different regions to prioritize student safety while also maintaining the academic calendar during the winter season. Parents and students are advised to stay updated through official announcements for the latest information on school reopening dates.
