The district administration has declared November 22, 23, and 24 as local holidays in Mansehra’s NA-18 due to the upcoming by-election.
The closure has been enforced because the by-election in the concerned constituency is scheduled for November 23, 2025. Therefore, the administration has decided to suspend academic activities to ensure smooth arrangements and maintain security during the polling process.
Meanwhile, students and parents across Punjab have also received another important update regarding the academic calendar. The Punjab government has officially confirmed the schedule for winter vacations in all educational institutions across the province. According to the notification issued by the provincial education department, the winter break will begin on December 23, 2025. It will continue for nearly three weeks, giving students, teachers and staff a long break in the cold season.
Moreover, the government has announced that schools will reopen on January 13, 2026, marking the start of the new academic session. The education department has advised all institutions to complete pending academic tasks and share the vacation schedule with parents in advance to avoid any confusion.
In addition, parents are expected to plan travel and study routines for their children accordingly. Many families welcome the early announcement, saying it helps them manage winter plans more easily. At the same time, teachers are preparing to adjust their academic calendars to ensure syllabus coverage before the break begins.
