Schools in Punjab to get two weekly holidays from August

LAHORE – All public and private schools will start observing two weekly holidays across Punjab from August 2024 after they reopen following the summer break.

The announcement was made by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikanadr Hayat, stating that the decision has been taken to facilitate the teachers.

He said schools will remain closed for two days on Saturday and Sunday in a week, adding that teachers have been facing massive workload and the move will provide relief to them.

Before the start of the summer vacation, all public schools opened six days a week as there was one holiday on Sunday.
