Four members of the TTP and Fitna-al-Khawarij terrorist cell involved in the suicide attack at the Judicial Complex in G-11 Sector of Islamabad have been apprehended.
These suspects were linked to the suicide bombing at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad’s G-11 sector. Officials said the arrests were made after detailed intelligence efforts, and the investigation is now moving forward quickly. During questioning, the handler of the bomber, Sajidullah alias Sheena, revealed that TTP commander Saeed-ur-Rehman alias Daadullah had directed the attack from Afghanistan. He contacted Sheena through the Telegram application and instructed him to target Islamabad to cause maximum casualties among law enforcement agencies. Moreover, he sent photos of the bomber, Usman alias Qari, so Sheena could receive him once he entered Pakistan.
The suicide bomber, who belonged to the Shinwari tribe of Nangarhar, crossed into Pakistan, after which Sheena arranged his stay near Islamabad. Then, acting on Daadullah’s instructions, Sheena collected a suicide jacket from Peshawar’s Akhun Baba graveyard and brought it to the capital. On the day of the blast, he fitted the jacket on the bomber before the attack. Officials said the entire network was guided step by step by TTP leaders based in Afghanistan. They added that all key members, including the commander and three associates, have been arrested, while more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
Meanwhile, the federal government has introduced new security measures in Islamabad. It has decided to ban the entry of vehicles without electronic tags. Furthermore, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry announced that the government will begin a Secure Neighborhood Survey to improve public safety and strengthen security in the federal capital.
