Several injured in Karachi Pink bus fire incident

KARACHI: Local media is reporting a fire incident wherein a pink bus caught fire resulting in injuries to several passengers.

People’s Pink Bus Service operates on Route No. 1 in the southern port city. The bus caught fire near PAF’s Faisal Base causing panic among passengers, who while attempting to evade the situation created a stampede.

Several passengers subsequently fell on the bus floor due to panic and got injured. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported at the time of the incident. The fire was put out by staff of the People’s Red Bus, which was nearby.

The pink bus operates Monday through Sunday from seven in the morning to eight at night. A bus arrives after every 20 minutes at designated stops.
