A 45-year-old woman lost her life and three others were injured in an accident on the Sargodha-Lahore Road on Sunday.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, the incident occurred when the driver of an Alto car tried to avoid hitting a motorcycle and lost control, causing the car to overturn. As a result of the accident, 45-year-old Kosar Bibi lost her life on the spot. Three other family members sustained injuries. The injured have been identified as 60-year-old Saleh Muhammad, 24-year-old Asad Abbas, and 14-year-old Iman Fatima. Rescue 1122 teams responded quickly and shifted the injured to Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital in Sargodha for emergency medical treatment. Doctors are currently providing necessary care, and their condition is being monitored.
Police also arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Initial reports suggest that the car overturned while trying to avoid a sudden obstacle on the road, but further inquiry is underway. This incident highlights the increasing number of road accidents due to speeding, sudden road hazards, and lack of road safety awareness. Authorities have urged drivers to remain alert and follow traffic rules, especially on busy routes during the Eid holidays when road traffic increases. Local residents expressed grief over the incident and called for better traffic management and stricter safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
