Pakistani pilgrims forced to ‘sleep on roads’ during Hajj 2024

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced new rules for travelers performing Hajj and Umrah to prevent fraud and guarantee an issue free journey.

To further develop transparency and safeguard the freedoms of explorers, all coordinators should now apply for licenses and consent to specialist organization arrangements.

A Complaint Disposal Committee made up of grade 20 senior officers will look into any complaints and address any concerns related to charges of fraud against organizers.

Offenders may be subject to fines, including temporary blacklisting, if found guilty. In addition, organizers can file an appeal with an Appellate Committee presided over by grade 21 officers if they are unhappy with the committee’s ruling.

In addition, a stringent oversight mechanism will be put in place to supervise the Hajj and Umrah, and special funding will be set aside for this objective.

Additionally, in order to guarantee the safety and assistance of the impacted pilgrims, the ministry is able to compensate them.

These actions show how dedicated the government is to enhancing the travel experience for all religious tourists. By taking this action, the organizers hope to improve service quality, stop fraud, and guarantee accountability.

Pakistan is taking a major step to protect the interests of its residents who are traveling on holy pilgrimages by putting these restrictions into effect.

Thousands of pilgrims who go annually for the Hajj and Umrah are anticipated to benefit from the new laws. Travelers no longer have to worry about dishonest practices or poor service because there is more control and accountability, allowing them to concentrate on their spiritual travels.
