Unregistered restaurants in Islamabad to be sealed soon

Restaurants and food outlets in Islamabad have just three days left to complete their mandatory registration, as authorities gear up for a strict crackdown on unregistered establishments.

Authorities confirmed that strict action will start immediately after the November 30 deadline as all food outlets in the federal capital must complete their registration on time. The Deputy Director of the Food Authority emphasized that no restaurant or food point will be allowed to operate without registration from December 1 onward. Senior official Dr. Tahira Sadiq of the Food Authority, stated that the directive aims to improve food safety standards and streamline operations across the city. She added that daily inspections will be carried out to identify any unregistered outlets and ensure full compliance with regulations.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of Operations warned that unregistered restaurants and food points will face sealing and heavy fines once the enforcement drive begins. Officials urged all owners to finalize their registration before the deadline to avoid penalties and possible business closures. To help businesses comply, the Food Authority has set up a special desk at the Business Facilitation Center. Dr. Sadiq explained that the teams are providing on-the-spot facilitation to ensure the registration process is smooth and timely.

Additionally, authorities highlighted that the registration process has been made simple, and all outlets are encouraged to complete it promptly. The move is expected to strengthen citywide food safety and protect public health. Officials concluded that this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring high standards in food services, while supporting businesses in meeting the legal requirements. They reiterated that compliance with the registration process is mandatory, and no exceptions will be allowed after the deadline.
