Update on new car, motorcycle driving license fee in Karachi March 2024

KARACHI – The Driving License department of Sindh Police is the competent authority to issue driving license and permits to qualified drivers after ensuring sense of driving laws, driving ethics, road sense.

The driving license is the official document which authorizes its holder to operate various types of motor vehicle on roads to which the public have access.

Any person male / female of the minimum age of 18 years can apply for a driving license. Prior to visit at D.L Branch, it is necessary to obtain Online Pre-Appointment.

After obtaining pre-appointment token, the applicant has to appear (physically) at concerned driving license branch, having original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).

After registration, the applicant has to appear before medical officer for fitness as laid down Motor Vehicle Ordinance -1965.Before applying for the permanent license for car and motorcycle, it is mandatory to get a learner permit.

After completing a certain time period, an applicant goes for the permanent one.

The fee for car and motorcycle permanent driving license with three-year validity is Rs1,410 while the fee for the license with five-year validity stands at Rs1,860 in Karachi.

The fee structure is same for all other cities of Sindh.
