The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday predicted rainfall and thunderstorms across the country from March 24 to March 30 with “occasional gaps”.
A strong westerly wind system picks up strength on March 27, bringing heavier rains to cities across Pakistan. This weather shift hits Balochistan hardest, with showers likely in Panjgur, Turbat, Kech, Awaran, Gwadar, Pasni, and Ormara. Cloudbursts threaten Lasbela, Kharan, Khuzdar, Chagai, Dalbandin, Kalat, Sibi, and Kohlu.
Intermittent downpours also target Quetta, Barkhan, Naseerabad, Loralai, Ziarat, Chaman, and Pishin. Nearby spots like Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Harnai, Zhob, and Mastung face similar risks from gusts and rain. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sees changes up north too.
Rain falls in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, and Shangla. From March 24 to 29, showers hit Kohistan, Malakand, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Balakot. Clouds burst over Haripur, Mardan, Nowshera, Kurram, Swabi, Charsadda, Kohat, and Hangu. Southern areas like Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, and Dera Ismail Khan stay wet.
Punjab braces for thunderstorms in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and Jhelum. Showers reach Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, and Jhang. Lahore, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, and Pakpattan feel the shift. Southern cities Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Multan, Kot Addu, and Bahawalpur get rain, with Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan soaked from March 25 to 30.
Sindh joins in, with Karachi and Hyderabad expecting rain on March 25, 26, 28, and 29. Sukkur, Dadu, Kashmore, Jacobabad, and Larkana see showers too. Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir stay on alert. Travelers plan ahead—check roads, pack rain gear, and watch for floods. Farmers welcome the moisture boost.
