A horrific incident of violence was reported in the Matiari district of Sindh where a woman was subjected to brutal torture by her relatives.
A woman named Hassana was brutally beaten by her relatives in Ghulam Muhammad Anar, a village in Matiari. Her family accused her of helping their daughter elope. In retaliation, they tied her up, broke both her legs, and shaved her head.
Four of Hassana’s relatives were involved in the attack. After torturing her, they called the police, who shifted her to a hospital. Hassana denied any involvement, stating that the daughter had married of her own free will three days earlier.
Police have arrested a suspect while searching for the remaining three. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Matiari has taken notice of the case, and further investigation is underway. The incident highlights the ongoing issue of violence against women and the urgent need for strict action to prevent such brutality.
