Karachi imposes Eid sea bathing ban

Authorities have imposed a ban on swimming in the Karachi sea during the Eidul Azha holidays in order to avoid any untoward situation.

The ban aims to protect citizens from the risks caused by high seas and strong waves along the Karachi coastline. Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi announced that this step is a precaution to ensure the safety of beachgoers during the holiday period. Officials have declared the ban under Section 144 to prevent accidents and save lives.

Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to strictly enforce the ban and take action against those who violate the rules. Violators may face penalties under Section 195 (i) (a) and Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Authorities have also warned that the ban may be extended if the hazardous sea conditions continue beyond June 13. Citizens are urged to avoid visiting beaches and restricted areas during this time for their own safety.

This temporary restriction may affect those planning to enjoy sea bathing and beach activities over the Eid holidays, but the move prioritizes public protection amid unsafe weather conditions. Officials encourage people to cooperate fully with law enforcement and stay updated on further announcements regarding the ban. The sea bathing ban in Karachi highlights the importance of taking preventive measures to avoid accidents during periods of rough seas. Residents and visitors are reminded to follow safety guidelines and respect restrictions while authorities work to maintain public safety on the coast.
