A blast targeting a traffic police vehicle in Lakki Marwat injured multiple officers, including mobile in-charge Imran. The explosion caused the vehicle to catch fire. The injured were quickly moved to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Security forces cordoned off the area and began a search operation to arrest those involved. A formal investigation into the incident is underway.
This attack follows another violent incident on April 23, 2025, when terrorists targeted a wildlife park building near Karam Bridge in Lakki Marwat. According to KP police, an improvised explosive device planted earlier caused significant damage to the park’s office building. Although there were no casualties, furniture and equipment were destroyed. Police launched an investigation to trace the attackers.
Earlier, on November 30, 2024, unidentified gunmen killed three people in Lakki Marwat, including Sub-Inspector Qadeer Khan from Faisalabad and two locals, a father and son. The victims were in the area for holidays. The motive remains unknown, and authorities are still looking for the culprits.
These back-to-back incidents highlight the increasing security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The province has seen a noticeable surge in violent attacks in recent days, targeting police personnel and public property.
Officials stress the need for heightened security and quicker responses to maintain peace in the region. With investigations ongoing, the public remains on alert as authorities attempt to control the rising wave of terrorism in the area.
