The final consultations for Pakistan’s ODI team for the home series against Australia have come to an end.
Some changes have been made by selectors as they’re putting the team together to take on the Kangaroos. According to the reports, Babar Azam would be a part of the ODI squad for the Australian series. Emerging players Fakhar Zaman, Sufyan Muqeem and Huneen Shah are also expected to get call-ups. These selections will enhance the batting lineup and will provide some depth and shape to the team.
However, Faheem Ashraf and Hussain Talat appear to be under threat and may lose their places. Meanwhile, there is some discussion about Mohammad Rizwan on the side. Selectors will look at the team’s form, fitness, and balance to pick the final XI.
Pakistan will start its preparations in Rawalpindi on May 22. They will hold a training camp there. The team will have a practice session. They will work on their skills and combinations. Australia will arrive in Islamabad on May 23. This gives both teams time to adjust and prepare for the tough match ahead.
They will play the three-match ODI on May 30, June 2, and June 4. The fixtures let Pakistan test their bench strength. They can also finish combinations before their next international matches. The series can also confirm players for future white-ball tournaments.
During the camp, we will focus on form, match readiness, and situational tactics in coaching and team management. They will also monitor players’ workloads to prevent injuries. The final squad will be announced in the coming days, following last minute checks by selectors.
