Foreign reserves of Pakistan drop to $12.5 billion only

Foreign reserves of Pakistan have been plummeting to dangerous lows in recent times. The country’s reserves have dropped again by another $70 million and now the country’s total liquid foreign reserves are down to $12.5 billion only.

This latest data is until October 27, 2023. The State Bank of Pakistan posted on their official X account where they displayed the total amount of foreign reserves left for Pakistan. The number stood at $12,576.6 million only.

Despite the country’s foreign reserves depletion, the Central Bank’s reserves have shown a slight increase. They increased by $13.6 million and the new numbers of October 27, 2023 stands at $7.5 billion. 

However, at the same time there was a decrease in the Commercial Banks as their number stood at $5,068.8 million. They decreased by $92.6 million.
