Islamabad police arrest Man for attempted abduction of TikToker

The Islamabad Police on Monday arrested a man identified as Hassan Zahid from Lahore on charges of harassing, threatening, and attempting to kidnap TikTok personality Samiya Hijab.

The main suspect in the kidnapping case of TikToker Samiya Hijab has confessed to the crime during a court hearing in Islamabad. Police presented the accused, Hassan Zahid, before the District and Sessions Court in connection with the case of kidnapping and extortion against the social media influencer. Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry questioned the suspect about the threats and his motive, to which he admitted his wrongdoing, saying he had made a mistake.

Police requested an eight-day physical remand to recover the vehicle, pistol, and cash linked to the case. However, the court approved a five-day remand and handed the accused over to police custody. Authorities confirmed that further investigation will focus on tracing the items mentioned and gathering additional evidence. Earlier, police arrested Hassan Zahid after Samiya Hijab filed a complaint at Shalimar Police Station, along with a video statement. She accused the suspect of attempting to abduct her when she was returning his gifts. She also claimed the act amounted to abduction, harassment, and assault, while adding that she had CCTV footage as proof.

Following her complaint, police registered a case under sections 354, 365, 392, 500, 509, and 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The FIR detailed that the suspect tried to forcibly abduct her from outside her house. Investigators are now working to recover the remaining evidence and complete the probe. The court has directed police to present progress after the remand period ends. Meanwhile, officials stated that action will be taken strictly in accordance with the law, and the victim’s safety will remain a priority throughout the proceedings.
