Thousands of illegal CNICs cancelled by NADRA

The situation gets tense and tense. After Saudi Arabia caught fake Pakistani passports and gave them to the Embassy, it was later declared that they’re issued on fake CNICs. Ever since then, due to the Afghan immigrant conflict that has been stressing Pakistan’s leadership, the government has decided to shift the gears and start going after culprits directly.

NADRA cancels 18,000 fake CNICs

In recent news, NADRA, the leading legal document issuing authority of Pakistan has officially cancelled almost 19,000 fake CNICs issued to culprits. In an official statement, the spokesperson of NADRA added that they’re diligently working on the matter and they’ve located the culprits within the system as well.

Earlier several of NADRA employees were suspended on aiding and abetting on the issuance of fake CNICs to individuals. Now NADRA has streamlined tier processes and are working day and night to cancel fake CNICs and investigate both internal and external matters.

Joint Investigation Team looking into the Matter

In another statement, the spokesperson of NADRA stated that they have identified both internal and external factors that have contributed to this and individuals found guilty within the system will face the consequences. Moreover, a Joint Investigation Team has also been made that is investigation the matters of illegal document issuance including CNICs.
