Pakistan jacks up Passport Fees to streamline Processing; Check Full Fee Structure here

ISLAMABAD – The government of Pakistan revised the fee structure for e-passports, machine-readable passports (MRPs), and passport replacements to streamline the passport issuance system.

The new charges were added to support more efficient services, and updated rates depend on the type of passport and processing speed selected by applicants.

In addition to the updated fees for passport applications, the government has introduced new charges for replacing lost passports. The fee for replacing a lost passport for the first time is set at Rs. 54,000. However, the cost increases significantly for repeat losses, with the fee for a third-time loss now standing at Rs. 356,000.

The new changes aimed to enhance the passport issuance process and improve overall efficiency. Officials stated that the fee hikes are necessary to cover the costs associated with upgraded printing technologies and better services.

The revised fee structure is expected to impact a large number of citizens who are applying for or renewing their passports. Applicants will now have to consider the type of passport they need and how urgently they require it when determining the cost.
