How to register for ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ program?

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a project to transform 150 healthcare centers in the province into “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics.”

She distributed contract letters to doctors, emphasizing the creation of state-of-the-art clinics equipped with essential medical facilities and a fully digital system for patient care, from entry to treatment. During the launch ceremony, the chief minister announced an increase in the annual dialysis fund per patient from Rs700,000 to Rs1 million across Punjab.

She also outlined plans for innovative healthcare solutions, including motorcycle mini-clinics, organ implant programs, and doorstep insulin delivery for type 1 diabetic patients. Paramedical staff on motorcycles will use telemedicine to provide initial diagnoses and treatments.

Maryam Nawaz directed the establishment of help desks in hospitals to guide patients and stressed the importance of cleanliness and effective management in the new clinics. She acknowledged challenges such as limited resources, medicine theft, and a shortage of nurses but reaffirmed her determination to address these issues.

The chief minister highlighted that 90% of medicines are being provided free of cost in Punjab and revealed plans to deliver cancer medications to at least 100000 patients every two months. She announced the development and rehabilitation of 1250 basic health centers, with 904 already completed, to ease the burden on major hospitals.

The initiative also includes equipping the clinics with modern medical equipment like ECG, ultrasound, CT scan, and MRI machines. Maryam Nawaz pledged to introduce world-class machinery and advanced treatment methods, including Chinese techniques for cancer care, to enhance Punjab’s healthcare system. Her efforts aim to revolutionize the province’s health services and improve access for elderly and rural populations.
