The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Karachi has announced the immediate suspension of all services for non-European Union (EU) citizens until further notice.
The Swedish Consulate in Karachi has temporarily suspended all visa services for non-European Union (non-EU) applicants. This includes individuals who had already confirmed their visa appointments, as all bookings have now been cancelled and will not be rescheduled until further notice. According to the consulate, applicants affected by this decision will need to re-register through the consulate’s online appointment system once the services resume. The consulate assured that regular updates will be shared based on the situation. Officials thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during this period.
This suspension has caused uncertainty for many Pakistanis planning travel to Sweden. While no official reason has been shared for the sudden suspension, many are hopeful that services will restart soon. Meanwhile, visa services at the Swedish Embassy in Islamabad have already resumed. Pakistanis can apply there for short-term visits, including tourism and family trips. In another recent update, the United States consulates in Karachi and Lahore introduced new requirements in June for F, M, and J category visa applicants. Under the new guidelines, applicants must keep their social media accounts publicly viewable during the application review process.
Those planning to apply for Swedish or US visas are advised to stay informed through official consulate websites and avoid relying on unofficial sources.
