Separate trailer accidents leave two dead in Karachi

Heavy traffic continues to claim lives in Karachi, with two people losing their lives in separate accidents involving trailers.

Karachi and Khyber district witnessed tragic road accidents on Sunday, claiming several lives and leaving families in deep grief. According to police, a motorcyclist died on the Northern Bypass near Mawach Goth when a speeding trailer rammed into him. The driver fled the scene immediately, but police later seized the trailer and began efforts to trace the suspect.

Meanwhile, in a second accident in Karachi’s SITE area near Walika, another man lost his life after being run over by a trailer. Rescue officials shifted the body to Civil Hospital Karachi to complete legal procedures.

Earlier in the day, a devastating head-on collision between a car and a truck in Jamrud town of Khyber district left four people dead and one injured. According to rescue officials, the victims included a groom who was returning from a salon after wedding preparations. The joy of an upcoming celebration suddenly turned into mourning as the vehicle collided with a truck, killing the occupants on the spot.

Rescue and police teams arrived quickly, shifting the bodies and the injured person to a nearby hospital. The deceased were identified as Nauman, Mansoor, Sohail, and Zarab. As news of the groom’s death reached his home, heartbreaking scenes unfolded at the wedding house.

Police later cordoned off the scene, gathered evidence, and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. Officials stated that rising accidents highlight the urgent need for stricter traffic enforcement and cautious driving on highways.
