The much awaited e-passport facility has finally been unveiled in Pakistan by DG I&P. This development is one of the biggest steps in the modernisation of travel documents in Pakistan.

This isn’t just digitization of passports but numerous new security features have been added to the new e-passport.

29 new security features

The new e-passport isn’t just a small digital upgrade in the documentation procedures of DG I&P, it is by far the most secure passport due to the integration of 29 new security features. This marks it as one of the best advancements in Pakistan’s step to revolutionize and digitize the passport.

Fee structure of e-passport in Pakistan

Below is the detailed fee structure of e-passport. The contents contain the rate of all categories of passports with respect to date of expiry and date of delivery. All rats mentioned are in PKR.

The application process of e-passport is very simple and straightforward. Applicants can easily visit the passport office and the government is also trying to make the facility available to overseas Pakistanis especially in Europe.
