Urgent fee on passport to be returned due to huge backlog, Check latest updates here

Islamabad – There has been an immense issue as more and more Pakistanis are being stranded here due to passport processing times. The shortage of lamination paper has caused an immense backlog and the government has decided to return the urgent fee of applicants as the urgent passport time has also reached an astonishing 2 months.

A massive number of complaints were received by the Federal Ombudsman and they sent a team over at the passport offices. After inspection, the team had taken notice and stated that the candidates who have paid an urgent fee for their passports must be given their fee back.

This step was highly praised by the general public as the refund of urgent fees was a thoughtful step by the government.

The inspection team has officially asked the DGI I&P to refund the applicants who had filed for urgent passports.

Furthermore, they stated that the government needs to take immediate action on the matter and take into account that citizens may be on the verge of losing their jobs as many of them already have their visas with them but cannot travel due the unavailability of passports.
