Cement sales jump 30% in July across Pakistan

Cement dispatches in July 2025 climbed by 30.1% year-on-year to 4.0 million tons, compared to 3.1 million tons in July 2024.

Domestic dispatches saw an 18.4% YoY increase, reaching 3.0 million tons. Cement dispatches in Pakistan increased by 15.3 percent month-on-month in July 2025, helped by normalization in activity after the Eid holidays. On a yearly basis, total exports and local dispatches also showed significant growth.

In regional breakdown, the north region’s local dispatches rose by 12.3 percent year-on-year to 2.4 million tons. Meanwhile, southern local dispatches grew by a strong 54.2 percent year-on-year to 570,000 tons. Exports performed even better. Overall cement exports grew by 84.2 percent year-on-year, reaching 1.0 million tons in July. Southern exports went up by 73.2 percent to 776,000 tons, while northern exports increased by 134 percent, rising from 99,000 tons last year to 232,000 tons this July.

Total dispatches from the southern region showed a sharp 64.6 percent growth year-on-year, while northern dispatches rose by 17.6 percent. Industry-wide capacity utilization reached 57 percent overall—47 percent in the north and 95 percent in the south.

Company-Wise Highlights:

  • ACPL: 338000 tons (+129% YoY), exports up 206%
  • DGKC: 469000 tons (+70%), exports up 193%
  • POWER: 203000 tons (+59%), exports up 62%
  • FCCL: 489000 tons (+27%), exports up 233%
  • MLCF: 311000 tons (+21%), exports up 49%
  • LUCK: 798000 tons (+15%), exports up 8%
  • KOHC: Sales rose 9% with 11% local growth

Outlook:

Industry is expected to benefit from post-monsoon construction, especially in housing and infrastructure. Export growth is likely to continue due to competitive clinker pricing, while strong local demand may keep utilization rates high.
