Recently there had been a backlog of an immense 600,000 passport applications at a passport office located in Islamabad. The main reason for this backlog was the shortage of lamination paper. The Interior Ministry assured that the lamination paper has been imported and will arrive shortly.
Sources suggest that the lamination paper is still yet to arrive at Islamabad’s passport office and the passports which were scheduled to be provided in 2 weeks are not set to be delivered almost 60 days later.
