Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh killed in Israeli targeted attack in Iran

Noted Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli-targeted attack in Tehran, where he arrived to join world leaders for Iranian president oath-taking.

Hamas confirmed death of the political chief while the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that the incident’s cause is still under investigation.

Palestinian resistance group termed the attack as a treacherous Zionist raid, but Tel Aviv has not yet issued a statement.

At 62 years old, Haniyeh was a prominent Hamas figure who served as Palestinian Prime Minister in 2006 and led the Hamas political bureau from 2017. He was designated a terrorist by the US Department of State in 2018 and had been living in Qatar in recent years.
