New schools timings in Islamabad from August 5; details inside

ISLAMABAD – The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced new timings for educational institutions in Islamabad.

A notification has been issued by the department in this regard. It said the new timings will take effect on August 5, when schools will reopen following the summer vacation.

The single-shift institutions will observe timings from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 7:30 am to 12:30 pm on Fridays.The evening-shift schools will open at 2 pm and close at 7 pm (Mon-Thu), and they will observe 2:30 pm to 7 pm timings on Fridays.

Furthermore, the Pre-I (Montessori/Prep) classes will open at 8 am to 12 pm, Monday to Friday. Ex-F.G. Colleges will open from 8:30 am to 2 pm and 4 pm (Mon-Thu) and 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Fridays.

Earlier on Sunday, the Federal Ministry of Education extended the summer holidays in Islamabad educational institutions till August 4 due to the hot weather conditions.

“Due to the intense hot and humid weather in the district Federal Capital, it has been decided to extend summer vacation in ICT schools/colleges till August 4, 2024,” said a notification.
