Azerbaijan has become a popular destination for Pakistani tourists due to its easy visa application process and affordable fees.
The capital city, Baku, attracts the most visitors with its UNESCO-listed Old City, Icherisheher, and the iconic Flame Towers. Tourists also enjoy walking along the Caspian Sea Boulevard, which offers breathtaking views of the city. To make travel easier, Azerbaijan has introduced an online system for issuing electronic visit visas to citizens of many countries, including Pakistan. The process is simple and can be completed in just a few steps through the official ASAN Visa portal (https://evisa.gov.az/en/).
For Pakistani travelers, the country offers two categories of e-visas: standard and urgent. The standard single-entry visa, valid for 30 days, costs $20 along with a $5 service fee. Applications in this category are processed within three to five working days. On the other hand, those who need a quicker option can apply for the urgent visa, which costs $50 and is issued within three to five hours.
Once approved, the electronic visa remains valid for 90 days, allowing a maximum stay of 30 days in Azerbaijan. To apply, Pakistani applicants must provide a valid passport with a photocopy of its first page, a completed visa application form, a recent passport-sized photograph, a medical certificate, and travel insurance. The visa fee must be paid online during the application process.
