Security forces eliminate 35 Khwarij in KP operations

Security forces have killed 35 Indian-backed terrorists in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 10 and 13, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

Security forces carried out intelligence-based operations in Bajaur and South Waziristan districts, targeting Indian-sponsored militants identified as Khawarij. According to ISPR, troops effectively engaged their hideouts, leading to heavy exchanges of fire. As a result, 22 militants were killed in Bajaur, while another 13 were eliminated in South Waziristan.

However, during the fierce clashes, 12 soldiers embraced shahadat after fighting with exceptional bravery. The military confirmed that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dead militants, who had been actively involved in several terrorist activities in the region. The ISPR further stated that intelligence reports have confirmed the involvement of Afghan nationals in these terror attacks. It also raised concern over the continued use of Afghan soil by Khawarij elements against Pakistan. The statement stressed that Pakistan expects the Interim Afghan Government to fulfill its responsibility and ensure its territory is not used for terrorism.

In addition, security forces have launched sanitization operations in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants. The army reaffirmed its determination to root out terrorism and highlighted that the sacrifices of its brave soldiers further strengthen the national resolve to defeat such threats. The operations mark another major step in Pakistan’s ongoing fight against militancy. Officials emphasized that the country will not tolerate cross-border terrorism or foreign-sponsored networks working against its peace and security.
