According to sources, the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced that 6 Gulf countries are planning to introduce a Schengen-like visa in the upcoming two years. They hope to introduce this visa just as the Europeans have to facilitate their citizens.
The initiative of Schengen-like visa for Gulf countries
This initiative was taken at the GCC. During the 7th meeting of the Gulf Countries Council (GCC), the initiative to introduce this visa was taken by the council. The main reason to introduce such a visa was to simplify the nature of tourism visas for the Gulf and to streamline the travelling processes even further for this region.
This new visa is going to allow tourists to travel to all 6 Gulf countries under a single unified visa, just like in Europe. This is going to greatly benefit the tourists of the countries and foster a much better relationship between the countries themselves as well.
Countries included in Unified visa
The Gulf countries that are to be included in this unified visa are as below.
- United Arab Emirates (UAE)
- Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
- Kuwait
- Qatar
- Bahrain
- Oman
Moreover, these countries have well-established land routes and are well-connected with each other through land and air. This is going to help the tourists travel between the states once the visa has been finalised. FIA starts Blacklisting Passports of Professional Beggars
