US President Donald Trump has claimed that 48 Iranian leaders were killed in recent US strikes on Tehran.
While speaking to the media, he said the operation achieved significant results and described it as a major success. He added that such a large-scale strike sent a strong message and changed the situation in the region.
Furthermore, Trump stated that Iran’s new leadership is now seeking talks with the United States. He said arrangements for dialogue are underway and confirmed his willingness to engage in discussions. According to him, formal talks between Washington and Tehran will begin very soon. He also remarked that Iran could have chosen diplomacy earlier, which would have made the process easier.
In addition, the US president argued that the strikes prevented Iran from advancing its nuclear ambitions. He claimed that without the operation, Iran might have developed a nuclear weapon within weeks. He maintained that his actions were necessary to protect US interests and ensure regional stability.
Earlier, in an interview, Trump said he is aware of who is giving orders in Iran after Ayatollah Khamenei. He also noted that Iranian retaliation against US bases was less intense than expected, which he believes may open the door for diplomatic progress.
Meanwhile, international observers continue to monitor developments closely. Analysts suggest that while tensions remain high, both sides may now consider diplomatic engagement to avoid further escalation. The coming days are expected to be crucial in determining whether military confrontation gives way to negotiations and a possible political settlement.
